3Space – Turning empty spaces into opportunities

3Space is a charity that makes empty properties available to other charities, community groups and social enterprises for temporary projects. They have recently worked with long time friend of A Good Week, FoodCycle who held their pop-up restaurant as part of A Good Week in one of their London properties. Here, Head of Communications, Alice Vaughan talks to us about what Good means to 3Space…
What does Good mean to 3Space?
To us, Good means creating opportunities for people to do whatever it is they’re passionate about, helping the people around them and contributing to the growth of their community.

Tell us more about what your company does?
3Space is an innovative charity that takes empty commercial properties and makes them available to other charities, community organisations and social enterprises for temporary projects.
Who is it aimed at?
The organisations who use our spaces are really wide-ranging: from large national charities to very small community organisations. However they all have one thing in common – they’re all in need of space to do something Good! We’ve seen so many original projects taking place in our spaces, from art exhibitions, a circus school and graphic design workshops to sports training and pop-up restaurants!
What are the benefits for organizations, charities etc?
Working with us allows an organisation to experiment with creative or fun projects. People love pop-ups, and they are perfect for charities or community groups – allowing organisations to expand their operations, increase their profile and reach new audiences. Running a pop-up project is a great way for an organisation to test new ideas in a risk-free way, and the results are often a catalyst for a new wave of activities or projects.

Why are you getting involved in A Good Week?
At 3Space we love the concept of A Good Week – projects like Food Cycle’s A Good Meal, which was held in one of our London spaces, are all about collaboration, and providing people with an opportunity to do good in their community, which at the end of the day is our ultimate goal as a charity.
