A Good Day at School

June 11, 2012 5:05 pm

Teachers, parents and young people! Join us in creating A Good Day at School!

Here at A Good Week, we’re interested in helping young people enjoy a holistic and vibrant approach to learning. In light of the big global challenges faced by the next generation, we believe the school environment is a great place to foster positive social change.

A Good Week is a global celebration of all the Good that happens in the world, taking place 18-24 June. The week creates a space for events where organisations, individuals and communities can come together to help us realise our vision: a world where everyone has the resources and confidence to feel, do and live Good.

We strive to include all voices when we explore the meaning of Good and we’re making an extra-special effort to get schools and young people involved this year – after all, they’re the essential ingredient in making more Good happen!

To celebrate the potential of young people and to coincide with A Good Week for 2012, we’ve pulled together some of the best parts of the curriculum to create inspiring and thought-provoking lesson plans as part of our A Good Day at School initiative. We’ve consulted teachers to provide pupils with the opportunity to think about what they can do to have a positive impact on others and to explore what “good” means to them.

We’re inviting schools across the UK to join us in celebrating A Good Week by delivering and/or taking inspiration from the resources we’ve created. We understand that those working in education are phenomenally busy, but hope that you’ll support this cross-curricula project by making a little space in the timetable for Good!

Our A Good Day at School Resource Pack includes:

-       4 lesson plans for KS 2, 3, 4 and 5

-       sources to accompany our suggested lesson activities

-       homework tasks and follow on activities to continue learning

-       ideas on how to share your Good Day at School with us

We believe our initiative is timely in terms of its content and place in the school calendar as we near the end of the academic year. We’d love to have you involved and if you’ve any further question, do get in touch hello@agoodweek.com.

Have a Good Day!
